Ingredients

  • 2 sleeves graham crackers
  • 1 ¼ cups butter (2 ½ sticks)
  • 1 ¼ cups brown sugar
  • 2 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Arrange graham crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and bring the mixture to a boil. Allow it to boil gently for 3 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the graham crackers, spreading it out with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the toffee layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the mini chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them sit for a few minutes until melted, then spread the chocolate evenly over the surface.
  9. Allow the toffee to cool completely at room temperature before breaking into pieces.
