Cinnamon Roll Apple Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing)
  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Icing from cinnamon roll cans (for topping)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated.
  3. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. Separate cinnamon rolls and cut each into quarters.
  5. Spread a layer of cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  6. Sprinkle a portion of the apple mixture over the dough layer.
  7. Drizzle melted butter and vanilla extract over the apples.
  8. Repeat layering cinnamon roll pieces and apples until all ingredients are used, finishing with a top layer of cinnamon roll pieces.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cinnamon rolls are cooked through and golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  11. Drizzle the provided icing over the top before serving.
